The building was recognized as the 2010 NAIOP Nashville Office Development Deal of the year. The Bass, Berry & Sims lease transaction received the 2010 NAIOP Nashville Office Lease Deal of the year. The building received Gold LEED Certification making it the first LEED-certified skyscraper in the state.

Since Atlanta's tallest, the Bank of America Plaza, is located in nearby Midtown, SunTrust Plaza is the tallest in the downtown area, and features a rotating light on its pinnacle.
